More than 40 reports of the violations the investigation of which falls into the competence of the Security Police took place on the election day, June 3. The Security Police said in some cases it had not found any violations after all but was still investigating other reports.

Some violations had been reported to the Security Police also after the elections and these are also being investigated.

The Security Police has also received reports about possible violations of the campaigning rules the day before the elections and on the election day. Those reports have been forwarded to other law enforcement agencies depending on the type of violations falling in their competence.

The violations in the competence of the Security Police are as follows: intentional miscounting of votes, intentional breach of voting secrecy and vote-buying.

So far the Security Police has opened two criminal proceedings about intentional interference with people's right to free election. The Latvian State Police also said it had started a criminal proceeding about vote-buying and will forward it to the Security Police as the competent investigation authority.
