Each of the 19 contending political forces who will fight out parliamentary elections on October 1 is allowed to spend up to €708,053.30 on the pre-election campaigns, as estimated by the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) on August 10.

The KNAB has calculated the maximum limited amount of pre-election campaign spending that each political party and their association may spend before the 14th Saeima elections scheduled for October 1. The limited expenditure covers all types of political advertising placement, charity, sponsorship, benefits, and gifts.

The expenses of the pre-election campaign include both the total and individual expenses of the party's candidates.

Persons not affiliated with political parties and their associations may use funds not exceeding 15 minimum monthly salaries, i.e. EUR 7,500, for the pre-election campaign for or against parties and candidates for Members. The restrictions on the campaign for these persons apply to advertising placement, charity, sponsorship, benefits, gifts, and postal services.

KNAB estimates of the maximum amount of pre-election expenses of the parties before 14th Saeima elections were conducted on the basis of the methodology referred to by the Law for the financing of political organizations (parties) and the information of the Central Election Commission regarding the lists of parliamentary candidates.

An informative statement on the financial limits of the pre-election campaign is available on the KNAB website.
