Party ballot numbers revealed

On August 10 the Central Election Committee drew lots of MP candidates registered for the 13th Saeima election on October 6th.

This draw determines the order in which voting slips will be presented to voters across all regions of Latvia, and the number will be displayed on each party's ballot paper.

It will be featured prominently on the parties' election campaign materials.

The party numbers are as follows:

  1. "Latvijas Krievu savienība" (Latvia's Russian union)
  2. Jaunā konservatīvā partija (New conservative party)
  3. Rīcības partija (Action party)  
  4. Nacionālā apvienība "Visu Latvijai!"-"Tēvzemei un Brīvībai/LNNK" (National alliance "all for Latvia!" - "For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK")
  5. "PROGRESĪVIE" ("PROGRESSIVES")
  6. "Latvijas centriskā partija" ("Latvia's centrist party")
  7. "LSDSP/KDS/GKL"
  8. No sirds Latvijai (For Latvia from the heart)
  9. "Saskaņa" sociāldemokrātiskā partija ("Harmony" socialdemocratic party)
  10. Attīstībai/Par! (For development/For!)
  11. Latvijas Reģionu Apvienība (Latvia's Regional Alliance)
  12. "Latviešu Nacionālisti"("Latvian Nationalists")
  13. Jaunā VIENOTĪBA (New UNITY) 
  14. Par Alternatīvu (For an Alternative)
  15. Politiskā partija "KPV LV" (Political party "KPV LV")
  16. Zaļo un Zemnieku savienība (Greens and Farmers Union)

Of 1470 candidates in total, more than two thirds (68.3%) are men and 31.7% women. The average age of candidates is 46 years with the youngest candidate 21 years of age and the oldest 88 years of age.
