Ingrīda Latimira entered politics during the 7th Saeima together with the "New party", and later she was elected to the Saeima from the Greens and Farmers Union (ZZS) list. She performed the duties of the Speaker of the Saeima from 2002 until 2006.
Importantly, she was also one of the candidates for the position of President in the 1999 elections, which were eventually won by Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga.
In 2006, Ingrīda Latimira was appointed to the board of "Latvian State Radio and Television Center" (LVRTC), which she left in 2007 to focus on business.
Our condolences to her family and friends.
