The Riga City Court in Vidzeme has confirmed the settlement on April 11 in the dispute between Sigulda municipality and the political party For Stability!, which stipulates that the political force will stop using Sigulda's “S!” trademark as its logo, the court said on April 17.

The settlement provides that the party will stop distributing and using information materials showing “S!” in full and will stop using this brand in advertisements, in the party office, on souvenirs and accessories, including both printed and electronic media.

The party also cannot use “S!” as the abbreviation or designation of the name of the political party.

The “S!” trademark has been used by the Sigulda municipality for over 12 years on its own and as part of the slogan S!gulda aizrauj (S!gulda excites). The political party For Stability! had initially chosen to use “S!”, which is a registered trademark and symbolism of Sigulda municipality, to reflect its visual identity.
