During the meeting, Silina together with the leaders of 45 European countries discussed the impact of the Russian war in Ukraine on the security situation in the region and the possibilities of cooperation between countries in the fields of security, energy and connectivity.
"As Russia continues its criminal war, we must do more together to provide military, financial and political support to Ukraine - until it wins. Resisting Russian evil is in all of our interests to increase security and prosperity in Europe. It is also an important task to strengthen our democracies, making European countries more resilient against disinformation and hybrid threats. In these matters, Latvia shares its experience and knowledge with other like-minded countries," said Siliņa.
Siliņa had a bilateral meeting with President of Moldova Maia Sandu and Prime Minister of Iceland Bjarni Benediktsson. Also, during the meeting, the Prime Minister, in a conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, once again assured him that Latvia will continue to provide political, military, financial and other support to Ukraine until its victory and beyond.
Siliņa also participated in the plenary session of the meeting of the European political community and a round table discussion on the protection and strengthening of democracy.
On Wednesday, July 17, the Prime Minister met with Latvian citizens in the United Kingdom at the Latvian Embassy in London.
