Reacting to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Minister of Interior Marija Golubeva has blacklisted 41 more foreign citizens who are deemed a threat to Latvia's national security. The action came on the advice of the State Security Service (VDD).

Altogether, 56 people have been blacklisted by the Interior Ministry and its departments in connection with the Russian war in Ukraine. 20 of them are Russian citizens, 8 are Belarusian citizens, and 28 are of other nationalities. These persons act in the interests of Russia and Belarus and have been declared personae non gratae for an indeterminate period of time, said VDD.

The information available to the VDD shows the possible involvement of these persons in the acquisition of intelligence information or the support of Russian foreign policy interests. There are individuals among these persons who express their support for Russian military aggression against Ukraine.

The blacklisting by the Interior Ministry is in addition to the exclusions announced by the Foreign Ministry.
