The association LPV has distributed newspapers to broad audiences and printed their banners and slogans on buses.
KNAB said that political parties and other actors, including associations, have a variety of restrictions to be respected not only during the pre-election campaign but also in situations where they invite residents to vote on legislative initiatives.
KNAB found that the print materials and banners on buses were a campaign for amendments to the Constitution regarding the definition of a family.
In addition, KNAB found that the association allegedly violated the statutory requirements: in the materials of the campaign, it had not indicated the founder of the campaign, has not submitted a statement to the KNAB regarding the deployment of the materials of the campaign and has exceeded the maximum amount specified by the law for the costs of this kind of agitation.
Since these types of violations are subject to administrative responsibility in the regulatory enactments, the KNAB will decide on the application of the administrative penalty to the association, as well as on the prohibition of further agitation and on the obligation to transfer the excess costs to the State budget.
The KNAB is currently reviewing the 'charity concert tour' by the association which is allegedly implemented as a campaign too.
