Gobzems quits party and politics

Take note – story published 1 year ago

After failing to impress in the Saeima elections, populist politician Aldis Gobzems has announced that he is quitting his Katram un Katrai (For Each And Every) party, and politics in general with immediate effect.

He announced the move in a ruminative video on Facebook in which he strolled along a beach and talked about himself. He said that he had already sent a message to the party board, describing his quitting as a "manly" step.

"It is clear that Latvia does not need this type of politics, which is real, true, alive. As a politician, Latvia and the majority of Latvian people do not need me," Gobzems mused as the waves of the Baltic Sea lapped the shore as they have done since time immemorial.

"I have chosen to live now for myself," he emphasized, signalling that his future approach will be quite the opposite of 'For Each and Every'.
