The Greens and Farmers Union (ZZS) political party saw their ratings go up in January, while voter support for Unity, the National Alliance and Harmony declined, Latvian Television reported citing a new SKDS survey where respondents were asked how they would vote in Saeima elections.

The rating of Harmony, which still remains the most popular political party in Latvia, was down to 20.4 percent from 20.7 percent a month ago. Voter support for the National Alliance, the third most popular party, dropped to 5.8 percent from 7.3 percent, and Unity, which currently is in fifth place, saw its rating drop to 2.9 percent from 3.5 percent.

The Union of Greens and Farmers is currently the second most popular political party with a 15.3 percent voter support, up 1 percentage point from last month.

The New Conservative Party surged into fourth position. Its rating has grown to 4.1 percent from 3.1 percent.

The Latvian Association of Regions follows Unity with 2.5 percent voter support, down 1.1 percentage points.

Meanwhile, 2 percent of respondents would vote for KVP LV, which is 0.5 percentage points more than a month ago.

Voter support for the Movement For! has declined 0.1 percentage points to 1.4 percent.

For Latvia from the Heart would receive one percent of the vote in Saeima elections, down 0.8 percentage points.

For Development of Latvia, United for Latvia, the Russian Union of Latvia and the Progressives would get less than one percent of the vote each, the survey shows.

As usual, more than a quarter of those surveyed (26 percent) remained undecided about their political preferences ahead of the next scheduled parliamentary elections on October 6 this year.
