The status of British citizens arriving to Latvia will likewise remain as is even after Brexit if they arrive until or on March 29.
Rinkēvičs said he had discussed the matter with the UK's Foreign Secretary on January 21, and an announcement from the UK and a decision by the Latvina parliament are pending.
"Of course, there is a lot of work in other areas as well. Laws must be changed in many areas due to Brexit. If there's a "hard exit", there'll be many uncertainties but we'll try dealing with them. One of the main questions is the status of our citizens in Britain," said Rinkēvičs.
He also said that the interests of Latvia as concerns Brexit remain unchanged. "We want Britain to remain as close as possible to the EU even after it leaves," he said.
