Latvian Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš said July 13 he had tested positive for Covid-19 and would be altering his schedule accordingly.

"I have received a positive Covid-19 test result. I feel fine, but following medical advice, I will continue to work remotely this week. I invite you to be cautious and follow epidemiological safety measures to protect yourself and your fellow human beings from getting sick with #COVID19," he wrote on Twitter.

As a result of the positive test, a morning meeting with President Egils Levits was changed to a virtual meeting and other changes to the PM's diary, including a meeting with European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, due to take place July 15, are being instigated. The suspected source of the infection was not stated.
