Just 22 percent of economically active residents of Latvia support the government of Laimdota Straujuma, according to the survey carried out by GfK Baltic in collaboration with the LETA news agency.
However, when asked whether changes are needed in the current government, only 25 percent said that both a new prime minister and ministers were needed, 29 percent believed that several ministers should be replaced, and 9 percent said that only the head of the government had to be replaced. 15 percent had no opinion on the matter.
The current government enjoys greatest support among residents aged 55 to 65 years old (31 percent), Latvians (38 percent), households with five and more members (36 percent), residents of Greater Riga Region (34 percent), residents living in towns (32 percent) and rural areas (31 percent).
The online poll was carried out from August 6 to 17, a total of 809 economically active residents of Latvia were interviewed.
