Take note – story published 2 years ago

The Baltic Center for Investigative Jourrnalism, Re:Baltica, has a new report in English examining the people responsible for the spread of inaccurate, misleading or plain weird  dis- and misinformation about the Covid-19 pandemic, whether for ideological, egomaniacal or other reasons.

Titled "Who are the main disinformation spreaders in Latvia and how do they support themselves?", the report pays particular attention to who has been funding publicity campaigns urging a range of views from vaccine skepticism to outright denials that Covid-19 even exists.

The colorful cast list includes current and former politicians, diplomats, businessmen, leaders of religious groups, and some convicted fraudsters, as well as interesting connections to similar people in Lithuania and Estonia. The full investigation can be read at the Re:Baltica website
