Riga Conference kicks off for tenth time

Take note – story published 8 years ago

The tenth annual Riga Conference started Friday, with around 500 attendees expected to discuss regional security issues over two days.

Kicking things off was President Raimonds Vejonis who said "Much has been achieved already" before Defense Minister Raimonds Vejonis signalled that much remained to do, particularly with regard to security issues and improving governments' ability to predict crises.

They were followed by a panel including Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma, European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, Ukraine President Arseniy Yatsenyuk and US ambassador to the  EU Anthony Gardner.

Though some sessions are off the record while attendees enjoy Latvia's hospitality, many of them can be watched live online HERE.
