United List names its minister candidates

The political association United List (AS) has chosen their ministerial candidates as the last of the three coalition parties, AS said on Tuesday, December 6.

The non-affiliated Līga Meņģelsone, head of the Latvian Employers' Confederation, has been nominated as Health Minister. Saeima deputy Didzis Šmits has been named candidate for Agriculture Minister, Māris Kučinskis as Interior Minister, and Māris Sprindžuks as Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development.

New Unity and National Alliance, the other two parties forming the new coalition, already came out with their nominees Monday.

New Unity has chosen Arvils Ašeradens for the post of Finance Minister, Edgars Rinkēvičs as Foreign Minister, Inese Lībiņa-Egnere as Justice Minister, Anda Čakša as Education and Science Minister, Raimonds Čudars as Climate and Energy Minister, and Evika Siliņa as Welfare Minister.

National Alliance has named Ilze Indriksone as Economics Minister, Ināra Mūrniece as Defense Minister, Nauris Puntulis as Culture Minister, and Jānis Vitenbergs as Transport Minister.
