Baltic, Polish politicians to meet in Latvia next week

On Monday, April 23, the Latvian Saeima will host a meeting of the chairs of the European affairs commissions of the Baltic states and Polish parliaments.

The chairs will discuss the European Union's neighborhood and security policy in the context of external challenges and assistance to Ukraine. Participants will also discuss support for the European Union integration of Ukraine and Moldova, with Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Chair of the European Union Integration Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, due to speak.

Also on the agenda will be the upcoming meeting of the chairmen of the European affairs commissions of the parliaments of the European Union (COSAC).

At the end of the meeting, the chairmen of the commissions will visit the Riga hydroelectric power station and a solar panel park in Salaspils.

The European affairs commissions of the parliaments of the Baltic states and Poland traditionally hold meetings twice a year, during which current issues of the European Union are discussed.
