Jurēvics entered the Saeima in December last year on a stand-in mandate while Edgars Rinkēvičs performed the duties of Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government headed by Krišjānis Kariņš.
However, now that Rinkēvičs has been elected as the next State President, he must lay aside his parliamentary mandate completely, and Jurēvics takes it up in his place.
In the 14th Saeima, E. Jurēvics works in the State Administration and Local Government Commission, the Sustainable Development Commission, and also works in the Housing Issues Subcommittee and the parliamentary investigation commission on the consequences of the "capital overhaul" of the financial sector.
