The broadcast De Facto earlier reported that Jakovins, who is also a general practitioner, is involved in a criminal case in which a lawyer - according to the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) - illegally obtained the submission of a forged doctor's certificate in court to justify the lawyer's absence from the court hearing.
Jakovins himself admitted that he had been to the KNAB, but did not disclose the details and called the incident a misunderstanding.
"Panorama" has information that the Saeima has received documents on Jakovins' extradition for prosecution.
He has already been in court once, in a case of prescribing special prescriptions for narcotic and psychotropic substances without medical necessity, but the court acquitted him.
