On January 22, the State Police opened criminal proceedings for sexual abuse and sexual seduction on the basis of information provided by the Orphan's Court that two children born in 2011 had allegedly been sexually abused by an acquaintance of their father. The criminal proceedings have been referred for prosecution.
During the initial phase of the criminal investigation, it was established that the acquaintance had committed acts of a sexual nature in 2022 against one of the above-mentioned children born in 2011.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect had also previously committed sexual acts against the father of the children, for which the suspect had already served a sentence.
The investigation also identified four other persons who had been victims of the suspect's activities between 2006 and 2017. It was established that during this period, the suspect, using his authority, the trust of the victims, and his position of helplessness, carried out a continuous and systematic sexual abuse and seduction of four minor boys.
On January 31, a man born in 1972 was arrested for the offense and remanded in custody.
The investigation also established that the father of the children, born in 1982, had also committed acts of a sexual nature against one of his aforementioned children, born in 2011, between 2019 and 2023, which is being investigated in separate criminal proceedings.
Having assessed the circumstances proven in the criminal proceedings, the police proposed that the public prosecutor prosecute the man born in 1972 for 17 separate offenses (three serious and 14 particularly serious offenses). For the most severe offenses, a prison sentence of up to 20 years can be imposed.
Police reminds the public that all are innocent until proven guilty.
