On Tuesday, July 9, law enforcement arrested at the time of the crime a man born in 1975 who sold a particularly dangerous mixture of psychotropic substances, metonitazene, isotonitazene and protonitazene, or “shora,” to a young man born in 2009. The substance was removed from both the detained man and the young man who had not yet been able to use the substance.
According to the information available to the VP, the said man was engaged in the selling of narcotic, psychotropic substances to juvenile persons in Rīga, in the vicinity of the Central Station and Zasulauks.
Criminal proceedings have been commenced.
The commission of such a crime shall be punished with deprivation of liberty for a period of time from 5 to 15 years, confiscating property or without confiscation of property, and with probation supervision for a period of up to three years.
The man has been repeatedly punished in the past for offences related to the illicit trafficking of narcotic, psychotropic substances, as well as various material offences.
On Thursday, July 11, the court imposed a security measure, arrest, on the suspect.
