Searches have reportedly been carried out at several locations, including cars, but police are not providing more information at the moment – but they promise to do so on Friday, July 26.
It is believed that the case is linked to Aleksandrs Babenko, who is already on trial in the high-profile case of the murdered lawyer Mārtiņš Bunkus. Unofficial sources suggest Babenko's son Artjoms may be one of those apprehended Thursday on suspicion of plotting to kill a State Police employee. As mentioned above, police are due to give more details on Friday.
