Two people have been arrested in Russia on suspicion of the murder of football agent Roman Bezzubov in Rīga, Latvian State police said February 25

The two men have been named as Ivan Agapitov and Denis Konashkin, who had been wanted for some time.

Law enforcement officials said the State Police, in cooperation with Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization), had investigated the suspects' whereabouts in Russia, and officials from the Russian Interior Ministry arrested Agapitov and Konashkin on suspicion of the murder of Roman Bezzubov in Moscow this week.

Processes are currently underway to extradite them to Latvia, though it is not known how long this will take. The investigation in the criminal proceedings is ongoing.

As previously reported by LSM, in April 2021 Bezzubov was shot dead in broad daylight in what bore some of the hallmarks of a contract killing.
