The Economic Affairs Court has sentenced two persons, including one health care system employee, to conditional prison sentences and community service in the case of fake vaccination against Covid-19, LETA reported July 19.

The medical officer has been accused of claiming and accepting material values for fake vaccination, both by being a person authorized by the State and through the involvement of the intermediary. The person has also been accused of arbitrarily accessing the resources of an automated data-processing system, and of knowingly entering false information into an automated data-processing system.

The other person accused in the case supported illegal claims and acceptance of material values.

For the medical worker, the court applied custodial detention for one year and six months and probation monitoring for one year. The court also decided to withdraw the right to work in the medical administration for two years.

For the second person accused in the case, the court applied 150 hours of community service.
