Four arrests in Dobele murder case

Four persons have been arrested in the city of Dobele on suspicion of murder. Three of those detained are minors, the State Police (VP) has announced.

On September 20 of this year, a 54-year-old man was found dead in an abandoned building in Dobele. Arriving at the indicated address, the law enforcement officers found the body of a man born in 1967, who was found with several stab wounds. 

In connection with the incident, the officials of the Dobele precinct opened a murder case. 

In connection with the ongoing investigation, police arrested four persons on September 22 - a man born in 1994, a young man born in 2007 and two young men born in 2005.

Currently, criminal proceedings have been initiated for murder under aggravated circumstances committed by a group of persons. Committing such a crime is punishable by life imprisonment or deprivation of liberty for a period of ten to twenty years and probation supervision for a period of up to three years, with or without confiscation of property.

The Zemgale district court approved the detention of all four persons. 

The man born in 1994 has also come to the police's attention in the past, including for criminal offenses related to causing serious bodily harm. The three under-age detainees have also come to the police's attention several times in the past for property crimes, and one of the young people also for causing bodily harm.

The investigation continues.
