The goods stored at the warehouse were covered by insurance and would not significantly impact the company's activity, but due to the scale of the offense, ELKO offers up to EUR 200 000 for information that could lead to solving the crime.
The offense was committed in an organised group last weekend, at the ELKO warehouse premises "Lidostas Parks" (Airport Park). The premises were entered from an adjacent warehouse.
"We predict that Baltic and Eastern European markets could soon be filled with stolen goods: mobile phones, portable computers, processors, video and memory cards. We call for the immediate withdrawal of all partners in the event of suspicion of the origin of a product. If requested, we will provide serial numbers of stolen goods for comparison," said ELKO Group Director Sven Dinsdorf.
The State Police as well as investigators are actively working on the case.
ELKO is appealing for any information related to the identity and location of the offenders, transportation of goods and offers of goods from unauthorized dealers.
Persons that can provide information are invited to contact ELKO group by e-mail [email protected]. Anonymity is guaranteed.
