Officials of the Customs Department of the State Revenue Service (VID) and the State Border Guard, checking freight trains from Belarus, have discovered secret compartments hiding around 6,200 packets of cigarettes (124,000 smokes in total).

Sniffer dogs were used to quickly detect the contraband at the Indra customs control point, after analyzing scans of the composition of the cargo train. Around 2,000 packs of Belarus-made cigarettes were seized on January 9, following 4,200 packs found on January 5.

The amount of taxes unpaid to the state for the seized cigarettes is equivalent to approximately 24,000 euros.
