On suspicion of human trafficking, three persons have been detained in Ogre region, including the alleged organizer of the group – a woman who is also suspected of large-scale fraud, the State Police said July 26.

Police are appealing to victims to come forward. They believe that for several months, the suspects had taken advantage of a woman, forcing her to engage in prostitution for the purpose of making money for them.

Currently, the State Police is also investigating another criminal case against the alleged organizer of the mentioned criminal group, Valija Reina, born in 1966 (pictured), in connection with a large-scale fraud committed against three persons. It is possible that the number of victims is even higher, so the State Police took the unusual move of releasing her photo and inviting anyone who has suffered from her possible criminal activities to contact them.

A man born in 1999, an accomplice, was also detained. A day later, the police arrested the third member of the organized group, a woman born in 1986.

The information obtained by police during the investigation shows that the organizer, through psychological influence, involved the victim in the provision of sexual services. The victim was deceived about receiving financial benefits in the future. At the same time, the victim was forced to return all the money she earned to the organizer. The victim lived in a rented apartment together with the organizers of the crime and an accomplice. Also, the information obtained during the investigation shows that her passport was confiscated and she was also physically affected.

In connection with the incident, a criminal process has been initiated for human trafficking, committed by an organized group. If found guilty, the law provides for a jail term of 5 to 15 years.

Anyone with information is invited to contact the State Police on telephone number 110 or 65002402, or email [email protected]
