Sārts had previously agreed to continue to perform the Director's duties during the next rotation period, until August 31, 2027.
In the assessment of the Ministry of Defense (AM), the duties of the Head of the Center should continue to be fulfilled by Sārts. His work as director is higly valued and confirmed by ratings from NATO's Allied Transformation mission. It is also necessary to take into account the dynamics of the work of the center in the circumstances affected by the Russian war in Ukraine, notes AM.
AM have also proposed that further decisions on the appointment of the Director of the Center will be taken by the Minister for Defense.
