During these days, the movement of soldiers and military equipment will mostly be visible in the vicinity of Voleri, Daugavgrīva, Āgenskalns, Torņakalns, Kundziņsala, Sarkandaugava, Čiekuralns, Teika, Dārzciems, and Latgales priekšpilsēta.
The Commander of the national Guard, Brigadier General Kaspars Pudāns, said on the Latvian Radio program "Good Morning" that only the movement of soldiers to military exercise sites will take place through neighborhoods. No traffic restrictions are planned in the city, but it should be taken into account that due to military equipment there may be traffic delays.
This week the movement of soldiers and military machinery will also take place in the municipalities of Bauska, Ogre, Ķekava, and Ropaži.
During the training, the readiness of the national guards and soldiers to perform state defense tasks and protection of objects of major importance for the state will be trained in cooperation with the State Fire and Rescue Service, State Environmental Service, Riga Municipal Police, State Police, emergency services, hospitals, Border Guard, and municipal services.
Only training munitions will be used outside military bases.
