Latvia's National Armed Forces (NBS) together with NATO allies will participate in the 'Crystal Arrow 2023' military exercises next week.

From March 20 to 31, Crystal Arrow 2023 will take place at the Ādaži training ranges and in the Ādaži and Ropaži districts.

"The purpose of the 'Crystal Arrow 2023' military exercise is to improve mutual cooperation between the armed forces of NATO countries, to integrate elements of combat support and combat security for the maneuvering of units, to plan and execute offensive and defensive operations, as well as to certify the battle group of NATO's extended presence in Latvia," said a release from the NBS.

About 3,000 soldiers from Latvia, the USA, Germany, Great Britain and the NATO enhanced forward battlegroup in Latvia will be participating in the exercises, including aircraft and helicopters.

The armed forces call on residents to treat the ongoing military exercises with understanding for any inconveniences they may cause, pointing out that they are aimed at improving the state's defense capabilities and strengthening regional security.

Here is a video from last year's Crystal Arrow exercises, which certainly makes them look spectacular.
