Are you tough enough for the 'Army Tough Run'?

On August 3, Sigulda's Kakīškalns activity park will be the venue for the annual obstacle race "ARMY TOUGH RUN 2024", where participants will have to overcome both natural and artificial obstacles.

Registration for the event starts from 8.30. In four separate starts, the participants will run along the trails of the Gauja National Park, the basic idea of ​​the run being to invite Latvian residents to enjoy an active lifestyle, and familiarize themselves with soldiers and the military environment.

The race will consist of four separate starts over three distances, each named after ammunition calibers: 4.6 mm Jaunsardze (Youth guard) distance (5 kilometers with 14 obstacles); 5.56 mm distance over 5 kilometers with 14 obstacles for both Public and Team participants; 12.7 mm Elite distance over 10 kilometers with 28 obstacles.

"In the obstacle course, soldiers' relatives and the rest of the public will be able to challenge themselves in one of the distances to test their abilities. Here, the military and the civilian meet with one goal - playing sports together, sharing their experiences and popularizing an active lifestyle. The obstacle race "ARMY TOUGH RUN" becomes more and more ambitious every year due to the involvement of military equipment, which makes this race a celebration for every participant," says a description from the National Armed Forces.

During the event, there will be an Air Force flyover, military equipment will be on display and used as obstacles, young people will have the opportunity to ride 6x6 ATV vehicles, and there will also be free access to the Kakīškalns amusement attractions. The winners in each distance will receive prizes.
