38 more attempts to cross Latvia-Belarus border prevented

On Monday, January 24, the border guard prevented 38 people from crossing the Latvian-Belarusian border.

Since the announcement of the state of emergency on the Latvia-Belarus border August 10, the Border Guard has prevented 5,173 persons from crossing the border.

One person was detained having crossed the border illegally. The border guard did not prevent this person from entering on humanitarian grounds.

Since the announcement of the state of the emergency, 110 people have been allowed to cross the border citing humanitarian reasons.
