"We, the Baltic States, are aware of the importance of providing timely military assistance to Ukraine in helping to defend its independence. We will continue to support Ukraine, while urging our allies and partners to make every effort to ensure that Ukraine wins this war as soon as possible and is able to rebuild its country," said Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks.
"As I have repeatedly emphasized, we must fear the weakness of the West, not the strength of Russia,” Pabriks added.
The meeting also considered even closer defense co-operation between the Baltic States, including a new co-operation agreement on the provision of mutual military assistance.
The Ministers of Defense of the Baltic States reaffirmed the importance of co-operation with the United States and commended US decisions to provide additional funding for the development of military capabilities in the Baltic States.
In addition, ministers agreed to coordinate their cooperation in order to obtain European Union financial support to accelerate the implementation of military mobility projects in the region.
