According to a tweet, the ships were spotted May 22 just 6 nautical miles (10km) from the sea border and comprised a familiar cast list including a submarine support ship, a corvette, frigate and submarine.

Also on May 22 a Russian air force An-26 plane was monitored near Latvia's sea border.
