Avon Protection's FM50 gas mask systems for the protection of the armed forces against weapons of mass destruction are also used by other NATO members and Partner countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Norway and the Netherlands, the ministry said.
In 2020, the NATO Support and Procurement Agency entered into a general ten-year agreement with Avon Protection for the supply of individual respiratory protective equipment for weapons of mass destruction, and Latvia purchased FM50 gas mask systems under this agreement. The number of gas masks ordered and cost were not specified.
Avon Protection's products are designed to protect personnel from a variety of chemical, biological, radioactive, and nuclear threats.
