Take note – story published 1 year ago

Don't be surprised to see plenty of military braid and brass on show in Rīga in coming days, as senior NATO commanders are in town for training purposes.

From September 4 to 16, NATO operations planning exercises dubbed "Steadfast Pyramid 2022" and "Steadfast Pinnacle 2022" will take place in Rīga, in which high-ranking and senior officers from NATO member states, as well as soon-to-be members Finland and Sweden, will take part.

The purpose of the "Steadfast Pyramid" and "Steadfast Pinnacle" exercises is to improve the ability of senior and senior officers and commanders to plan and conduct joint operations, according to the Latvian Armed Forces (NBS).

Steadfast Pyramid 2021, which will last until September 10, is the first part of an exercise organized by Allied Transformation Command and NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe. It is attended by senior and senior officers to improve staff planning skills.

Meanwhile, the second part of the exercise "Steadfast Pinnacle 2022" will take place from September 11 to 16, and will include the training of top-level commanders in the field of operational planning.

Exercises "Steadfast Pyramid" and "Steadfast Pinnacle" have been held in Latvia since 2011. The video below shows the 2019 exercises.
