"Today, a soldier of the National Armed Forces received a gunshot wound, which was not compatible with the life of the soldier, during the cleaning of weapons after classes," said a brief statement from the NBS.
The military police have started a special investigation to clarify the precise circumstances of the incident and establish if any criminal liability applies. The identity of the victim was not released.
The National Armed Forces extended their deepest condolences to the soldier's relatives, friends and service colleagues, adding that they would provide all the necessary support to the relatives of the deceased soldier, including psychological and spiritual support.
