The number of appeals received is almost double the number received last year when 1011 appeals were received after the exam session.
The majority of appeals, 1,558, were submitted by high school pupils, representing 3% of all centralized examination papers received and marked in secondary education. At the middle-school level, 437 examination marks were requested for revision, representing 1% of all papers received and marked.
The largest number of appeals was for revision of the mathematics examination marks - a total of 1,085 appeals. A number of appeals were also received concerning the results of examinations in English.
The majority of requests for reconsideration were due to incorrect information in the National Examination Information System about a pupil's participation in an examination or part of an examination, incorrectly completed or mixed-up worksheets.
The VISC is still reviewing the appeals received. Information on the outcome of the appeals is promised in early September.
