17 schools studied remotely last week in Latvia

Last week, a fully remote education process took place in 17 educational institutions, the State Service of Education Quality senior expert, Jana Veinberga, told LETA January 25.

From January 17 to January 21, fully remote learning took place in 12 general education institutions: five elementary schools, four secondary schools, two primary schools and one gymnasium. In addition, remote learning took place in two pre-primary education institutions, two special education institutions and one vocational orientation music and arts education institution.

Previously, 5.92% of the entire number of forms were learning remotely in the primary education group. Last week the figure had climbed to In a further 4.38%, part of the pupils learned remotely.

In the secondary education group, 10.81% of forms learned remotely and in another 9.5% part of the pupils learned remotely.

As reported, the Covid-19 incidence is currently growing most rapidly among children and teenagers.
