Franco-Latvian discussion will center on European digital sovereignty

Within the framework of the current six-month French Presidency of the EU Council, on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 10:00 to 16:30, the Institut Francais in Latvia and the French Embassy in Latvia will organize an online seminar titled “European Digital Sovereignty – French and Latvian perspectives”.

"The event aims to analyze both the challenges and the opportunities of technological transformations, both at the institutional level (States, European Union and international system) and at the societal level (for the actors of civil society and the economic sector). Beyond the state of affairs, it will be question of solutions that can be implemented at the level of the States and of the European Union, including within the framework of bilateral Franco-Latvian cooperation and of civil society," say the organizers.

Various officials and experts will be taking part, including Henri Verdier, French ambassador for digital affairs; Baiba Kaškina, director of CERT.lv and Anna Andersone, co-founder of Rīga Tech Girls.
