Latvia ranks highest among OECD countries for women in science

Latvia ranks first among the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries on the percentage of women in science, technology and innovation, according to OECD's information of April 19.

The OECD STI.Scorebord contains over 60 indicators on women and gender across different dimensions of science, technology and innovation. These include statistics on women working as researchers, inventors, and doctorate holders. 

According to the Scoreboard, Latvia ranks highest among OECD countries with 50.7% of women in science, based on headcount. Lithuania comes second at 49%, whereas Estonia ranks sixth at 42.5%.
