The topic of the conversation will be "Destruction of monuments or public art as a focus of social unrest", according to the organizers.

“Within the framework of the topic, we will focus on the destruction of monuments in public space, studying examples from the recent past in Great Britain and Latvia. Monuments erected in honor of well-known individuals and the system of power they represent have become a symbol of oppression in both countries today. What can we learn by studying why and how they have become so? And what happens when they are dismantled? ” ponders advance publicity.

The guest lecturers will be the CSM's Dean Kenning and Deniss Hanovs, professor of intercultural communication science, Faculty of Communication studies. Riga Stradīņš University.

The online discussion will take place free of charge on February 11 at 16:00 on the "Zoom" platform. The discussion will be in English.
