On October 2, Teachers' Day is celebrated in Latvia. Inga Vanaga, head of the Latvian Education and Science Workers union (LIZDA), invites the public to remember all their teachers, from primary school to higher education, Latvian Radio reported Sunday.

"Let this day be more special than all the others, let it be more fun. Let this day also have an instant to assess what we have achieved together: what improvements to the teachers' family [have been made]" Inga Vanaga said.

“I would also ask you to remember that the teacher is a strong personality professional, the teacher is responsible, dedicated, supportive, inquisitive, and that curiosity must also be passed on to the young generation. And this profession is characterized by love for humans," said Vanaga.

Most schools celebrated the Teachers' Day already on Friday.
