The first egg hatched on the evening of May 21 and two others followed soon. Another two are still getting ready to hatch.
Expert from the Latvian Fund for Nature, ornithologist Jānis Ķuze said: "Our white stork family has experienced successful hatching and we will now be able to follow the young as they grow. One must take into account that the hatching is not a guarantee that the nesting will go well, so let us follow the lives of the storks and what's happening inside the nest and around it."
The female stork laid six eggs this season but for reasons unknown tossed one overboard.
Last year, five eggs were also in the nest but four storklings hatched and grew up.
