On Wednesday, August 21, the State Environmental Service (SES) inspected the oil depots of "Mix Oil" and "RMNS" in Daugavpils, Vaļņu Street 4N, where violations had previously been found - the maximum permissible amount of storage of hazardous substances (diesel fuel) was exceeded and the activities did not comply with the issued permit.
The companies were ordered to suspend the operation of the oil depot by August 20.
The representatives of both companies verbally confirmed their willingness to cooperate with the Environmental Service in the future. The companies also undertook to suspend the operation of the oil depot until the category B pollution permit was obtained.
The VVD continues to monitor the situation and ensure that companies fully comply with the environmental protection measures.
