In cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and in response to the call of the Chairperson of the Saeima, Daiga Mieriņa (Greens and Farmers Union), the Ministry of Health together with the Emergency Medical Service, the National Health Service and hospitals assessed the available resources and the possibility to help Ukrainian hospitals.
The donation shipment consists of several dozen artificial lung ventilation machines, patient vital signs monitors, operating tables, ultrasound machines, a defibrillator, heart rhythm monitors, and other medical equipment.
The donation will be delivered to the Chernihiv Regional Children's Hospital in Ukraine, which will distribute the equipment to other Ukrainian medical institutions.
Both state and municipal hospitals responded to the call to donate medical equipment to Ukrainian hospitals: the Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital, Daugavpils Regional Hospital, North Kurzeme Regional Hospital, Madona Hospital, Cēsis Clinic, Bauska Hospital and Riga Psychiatry and Narcology Centre.
The cargo of donations will be delivered to Ukraine with the help of the "Entrepreneurs for Peace" Foundation. Along with the medical equipment, Entrepreneurs for Peace will also deliver IGLU toys donated by Draugiem Group to the Chernihiv Regional Children's Hospital in Ukraine.
