Of the newly-confirmed cases, 4,057 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 7,263 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 23,639 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 47.9% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population dipped slightly from 7,220 Tuesday to 7,193 Wednesday. Since the beginning of the pandemic 612,920 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

Unfortunately 15 more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All of the victims were aged over 50 years. Five of the dead were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 5,145.
Tuesday hospital data from the National Health Service show 1,280 patients being treated in hospitals (down on 1,296 on Monday). 169 patients were admitted and the same number, 169, were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 82 patients were displaying serious symptoms.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) still need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia at the website covidpass.lv until March 1, when the requirement will be dropped.
