The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 141,686.
Of 23,697 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 0.6% were positive. The number of tests is expected to be higher in the coming week since mass testing at schools is ongoing.
The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants rose from 96.6 Wednesday to 98.9 Thursday.

Latvijā ar Covid-19 kopumā saslimuši 141 686 cilvēki
One additional Covid-related death was confirmed. The victim was aged 70-79 years. The death toll since the start of the pandemic rose to 2,571.
There are currently 104 people treated in hospitals for Covid-19, 15 of whom are displaying serious symptoms of the disease.
Meanwhile, in Estonia 405 new Covid cases were registered and in Lithuania 703 new cases were recorded.
