Of 5,510 tests carried out over the past day, 38% were positive, resulting in 2,111 confirmed new cases of infection. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 population rose from 772 Tuesday to 836 Wednesday. The last time morbidity was at this level was mid-April.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 858,728 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

Tuesday hospital data from the National Health Service (NVD) show 189 patients being treated in hospitals, one of whom was displaying serious symptoms.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme.
